Not enough light
A Stromanthe whose pink and cream variegation is washing out to plain green is almost always under-lit.
Diagnosis
Not enough light
What's happening
Triostar earns its dramatic cream, green, and pink coloring from good light; the pale variegated areas have little chlorophyll, so in dim conditions the plant favors plainer green growth to capture what light it can. New leaves come in with weaker color, and the whole plant can stretch and lean toward the window.
How to fix it
Move the plant to a brighter spot with plenty of bright, indirect light — never harsh direct sun, which scorches it, but well-lit all the same. If your space is genuinely dim, a full-spectrum grow light makes a real difference and is often the only way to keep the variegation rich. Already-faded leaves usually stay that way, but new growth in better light will return with stronger pink and cream.
What fixes it
- A full-spectrum LED grow light — A full-spectrum grow light restores the bright, indirect light Triostar needs to keep its pink-and-cream variegation.
If that doesn't fix it
